I would definitely have to agree that visual culture is an important key to understanding history and memory. I really like the abstract piece she is standing next to in the top photo. It is wonderful that she organized exhibitions of Shaw student work at Howard University’s Gallery of Art and seemed to truly care about her students. Wish I had had an art teacher like her.
